Uri: The Surgical Strike

Uri: The Surgical Strike is an Indian film based on true events rendered in the Hindi Language. It is a military action movie with Aditya Dhar as the director and Ronnie Screwvala as the producer. It features stars such as Yami Gautam, Vicky Kaushal, Mohit Raina, Paresh Rawal and Kirti Kulhari. These actors take the lead role in the movie.

Uri: The Surgical Strike gained ₹342.06 crore which is $53 million after its release on 11th January 2019 worldwide. It got positive critic reviews and a ranking among the top-earning Indian movies. It has also received numerous accolades and awards.

Uri: The Surgical Strike takes you on a dramatised journey of retaliation to the Uri attack in 2016. It follows Vihaan Shergill, a major in the Indian army, who plays the leading role in the movie.

This movie is dived into 5 chapters which include: The Seven Sisters, An Unsettling Peace, Bleed India with Thousand Cuts, Naya Hindustan and The Surgical Strike.

The Seven Sisters, the first chapter, is set in 2015 when an Indian Army convoy is ambushed in Chandel by NSCN militants. In response, the lead actor Major Singh Shergill who is also a special forces soldier leads his unit including Major Karan Kashyap,(who is also his brother in Low) to attack and infiltrate the militants killing its leader responsible for the attack in the process.

The second chapter, An Unsettling Peace shows the Major returning to New Delhi where he serves in an office at the integrated defence staff Hq. In the third chapter, Bleed India with Thousand Cuts, 4 armed hostiles attack the headquarters at dawn killing 19 soldiers while they sleep. This makes Major Vihaan leave his desk job and chooses soldiers from the Bihar Regiment, Ghatak Force and Dogra Regiment for the counter-insurgency mission.

During the 4th chapter, Naya Hindustan, the major receives intelligence and equipment to help him during the counter-terrorism mission. The final chapter, The Surgical Strike, the commandos with Major Vihaan in command strike Pakistan occupied Kashmir with the final result being India winning the war. This is revealed when the prime minister to Pakistan waking up and shouting as he sees the news report stating India has won.
